Does TV disgust you?
Are you disgusted with TV? Especially the way the three local networks have the same news at the same time.
When the weather get bad, they really like that. They get to scare more people.
Sometimes the weather is bad and they hit it.
But how about those days like today when it is perfect. When they have a murder or a break in they really like that.
And the TV ads about new medicines: If they don’t kill you talk to your doctor about them first.
Now I heard from a doctor on the radio. He said this takes up his valuable time trying to convince his patients they don’t need those fancy new products. He said he would rather take that time discussing what would help them.
With the cutback in Medicare he can’t spend as much time with each patient. The doctor says he has to spend time with the medicine manufacturer getting free sample to give to his patients who really can’t afford to buy them. He said he was ready to get out of the business for these very reasons. He wrote a book about the problems.
Channel 25 KXXV-TV agreed to be a media sponsor for our Heloise event. But they didn’t deem it a worthy story to run a story about her visit.
Thanks goodness hundreds of people heard about it through our newspapers and other means and came and made it a great turnout. Almost a sell out. The profits go to help Waco Cultural Arts Fest in Sept.
KWTX-TV did a great job at the last minute when they heard about Heloise wanting to visit the new maternity award at Hillcrest.
A single reporter with a huge camera made it there, did the shooting and it appeared at 6:20 during the news on Monday the day before the lunch at the Roosevelt Ballroom. Heloise and the Fest committee appreciated it, and Heloise wanted a copy of the video.
If you want to keep up with Heloise’ latest tips, subscribe to our newspapers. There is a subscription blank in this issue.
This is probably what many people are learning about other channels to find what they like.
Grande now has come out with a blazing new high speed internet and more channels.
