TPA Sports Connection: Cross Country Athletes and Coaches of the Year

The Texas Girls Coaches Association each year selects one athlete from Conferences 1A-2A-3A and one athlete from Conferences 4A-5A to be named Athlete of the Year in each division for Cross Country. TGCA also selects one coach from Conferences 1A-2A-3A and one coach from Conferences 4A-5A to be named Coach of the Year in each division. Varsity head coaches of Athletes of the Year must be members in good standing of the Texas Girls Coaches Association and must meet a membership deadine of November 1st of the awarding membership year. The same policy applies to coaches selected as Coach of the Year. Athletes of the Year must be seniors, be an outstanding athlete in Cross Country, and demonstrate positive character traits. Coaches of the Year must be head varsity coaches and meet the membership deadline of November 1st. Honor recipients for these two awards are selected by the Texas Girls Coaches Association Cross Country Committee, composed of cross country member coaches of the Association.
