Baylor Bears are now bowl eligible after the 47 to 42 win over the Kansas State Wildcats.  I asked Coach Art Briles what bowl he would like to go to. Any of them as long as it has bowl game on it. The Bears haven’t been to a bowl game since Dec. 1982. It was the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio. I had a seat in the press box on the 50 yard line that historic day. The Baylor Band played songs in boats floating down the San Antonio river.
Robert Griffin III savored the moment after the win tonight. He stayed on the field must have been 30 minutes getting congratulations and pictures from fans. At the press conference afterward I asked him if the weather delay hurt him. “We won the game.” We got his picture with a cheerleader after the game on the field.
In the locker room there was talk about Jay Findley setting more records than Griffin. The game started at 2:30 p. m. had several rain delays and finally finished at 9 p. m.
