2010 WACO CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION INCLUDES DOWNTOWN PARADE
To welcome Wacoans and visitors “HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS”, Historic Waco Foundation, Inc. is hosting its annual Christmas on the Brazos decorated house museum tours as well as the Waco Christmas Parade.
Four local houses built from 1858-1874 will be decked out for the holidays and open for tours to the public beginning Thanksgiving weekend. Three of the houses are located downtown, situated along Fourth Street, and a fourth house fronts onto Martin Luther King Drive. Dates the houses are open for HOLIDAY TOURS are November 27 & 28, December 4 & 5, and December 11 & 12 in the afternoons from 2:00-5:00 pm. The houses are also open for CANDLELIGHT TOURS on Friday, December 3 from 6:00-9:00 pm. Local middle- and high-school students will be dressed to serve as Belles & Beaus to host the house museum tours. An adult ticket for all four houses (good for the weekends and for Candlelight) is $15. Individual house admissions may be paid if you cannot visit all the houses for $5. per house. Children under age 13 are free of charge with an adult.
The WACO CHRISTMAS PARADE will be held on Saturday, December 4 beginning at 6:30 pm along Austin Avenue from 12th Street to Heritage Square for the tree lighting festivities. There is no charge to participate in the parade, but registrations need to be completed by November 30th.
