The Technology Student Association will be having their annual State Contest
in the Waco Convention Center April 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. Students have been
working hard on their competitions this school year in hopes of going to
nationals in Nashville, TN. These competitions serve to help students
enhance their skills in various areas of technology.
The State Contest is an annual event and is a great way for students to
interact with other students from all over Texas with same or similar
interests. While students are not competing it is more than likely out
making new friends.
Every student is different. TSA is a Career Technology Student Organization
that focuses on technology education, and offers a variety of competitions
from Architecture to Web design, and everything in between. There is a
competition for everybody to showcase their different talents and interests.
The diversity of the events is one thing that makes the State Contest so
exciting.
The students have from the beginning of the school year to perfect their
pieces for competition. “Unlike other projects which I put off until the
last possible moment, I worked on my TSA projects for months.” says Brisa
Gonzalez, student from South Texas, “Pretty much from 5pm to 11pm everyday
with extra hours as the week of regionals arrived.”
As the competition draws nearer, the anticipation keeps building up. This
time of the year is something that many students look forward to. It’s time
to take charge, and let the contest begin, and may all the students’ hard
work pay off this coming week.
