The Robinson Recreational Park had its Groundbreaking Ceremony Saturday morning to initiate the construction beginning in January 2011.
The recreational park will be located on Peplow Drive adjacent to the new Robinson primary school. The 7.7 acre park will include a playground, fitness area, skate park, sand volleyball court, basketball court and jogging track. An amphitheater and water park will also be built in the future. The playground equipment was purchased from Gametime in 2009 and is being stored until construction is finished.
Robert Cervenka, Robinson City Manager, welcomed everyone and did introductions. Bryan Ferguson, Mayor of Robinson, proceeded with the Invocation. Other remarks were made by Dr. Terry Fox, Park Board Chariman, and Dr. Michael Hope, Robinson ISD Superintendnent. Members of the Planning & Zoning Committee, School Board and City Council all participated with shovels in the groundbreaking.
