OPERA AND MUSICAL THEATRE WILL BE PERFORMED AT THE FREDERICKSBURG OPERA FEST

Gilbert and Sullivan’s Opera H.M.S. Pinafore, recently produced by The San Antonio Opera, was the beginning of Musical Theatre as we know it today.

At the Fredericksburg Opera Fest on July 23rd and 24th, all in attendance will have the opportunity to celebrate both great opera and musical theatre.

Ava Pine is coming home to do both.  Christopher Dickerson, bass/baritone from New York will do the same.  David Gaschen, known the world over for his over 1300 lead role performances in Phantom of the Opera will perform only musical theatre.

The Saturday evening 7:30 performance will feature Ava Pine singing opera’s arias’ Quando men vo,’  ‘ Adieu, notre petite table,’  ‘ Juliette’s Waltz,’ Romeo & Juliette and ‘Over The Rainbow’ from The Wizard of Oz.  Christopher Dickerson will perform aria ‘Vecchia Zimarra’ from la Boheme, ‘Some Enchanted Evening’ from South Pacific, ‘Stars’ from Les Miserables . David Gaschen will follow with ‘Bring Him Home’ from Les Miserables, ‘Come What May’ from The Moulin Rouge, ‘I’ll Be Seeing You’ pop from the 40’s, ‘Anthem’ from the musical Chess and ‘Music Of The Night’ from Phantom of The Opera.  Ava and Christopher will also perform the duet, ‘All I Ask Of You’, Phantom.   Other music on tap for Saturday are the songs,’You’re Just in Love’ from Pajama game, performed by Gaschen and Pine and Rock & Roll, Blue Suede Shoes, made famous by Elvis Presley.

The Sunday matinee performance will feature Ava Pine singing arias O Mio babbino caro, Vedrai, Carino, Che il bel sogno and show tune “I Hate Men”.

Christopher Dickerson will perform ‘La Calunnia’. Barber of Seville, ‘If Even I would Leave You’, Camelot, ‘On The Street Where You Live’, My Fair Lady,

‘Stars’, Les Miserables and ‘Bring Him Home’ performed by Gaschen.  Gaschen will also perform a variety of Broadway Show tunes such as ‘Music Of The Night’, Phantom of The Opera and others.  Route 66 will be performed by Dickerson.

For folks purchasing the week-end package tickets, they will experience a wonderful variety of opera and musical theatre.  Single show attenders will be certain to experience some of the best in opera and musical theatre as well.
