Meals & Wheels Christmas Celebration
By Dale Allen
On Tuesday, December 7th,2010, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM., Meals & Wheels held
its annual Christmas Celebration at the Waco Lion’s Den. Over 300 participants enjoyed a
celebration via Christmas music and a scrumptious meal catered by Valley Services. The
celebration host was Rose Moyer, Director of Senior Centers. Those present were greeted by
Santa Claus (Bill Locklar) and Board President Ed Arredondo, followed with a blessing given
by Reverand Libby Bellinger. A great thirty-minute concert of Christmas music was provided
by the female Junior League Musical Therapy Singers. During the remainder of the
celebration time, attendees enjoyed a mixture of music provided by accordian-player Harold
Strand and his “pick up ” band consisting of guitarists Ken Frazier, James Klein, Ron Slafko,
drummer Ryan Klein, with vocals by Dale and Anita Allen. Many participants furthered their
enjoyment by dancing to the music of The Strand Band. In addition, several door prizes were
given to the lucky winners. All in all, as the saying goes, a good time was had by all!

This is a Awesome tradition.
This annual program put on by CTSM for their Seniors is FIRST CLASS (second to none), and a joy to attend. The food was very delicious and the entertainment was super. The music played by The Harold Strand Orchestra/Band was old favorites with sentimental Christmas Holiday values for their dancing and listening pleasures. Great praise must be aloso given to the Junior League Therapy Singers for their marvelous performance. The CTSM Board of Directors and Staff members have always put US Seniors first.
What a great turn out. The CTSM Board & Staff are to be commended for their hard work and originality in decorations. I am pleased to have attended. Thanks to Dale and Wife, Anita for thir time spent in entertaining us “Ole Folks”. These are two of the most giving wonderful people. I have know the Strands only a few short years; but, the Christmas music produced by the Harold Stramd Band was simply6 awesome. Looking forward to 2011.
I am so Gorgeous – a beautiful person. When you see me you will know me. I smile and share my happy feelings with everyone around me. I happened to attend the MOW Senior’s Party with some friends this past December and I was amazed at the enthusiam to dance and converse as friends, not as strsngers. What a blessing I received. A big “Thank You” to all attending.
