Local girls place in top 15 in Miss Texas USA pageant
Miss Central Laredo USA, Ana Rodriguez Miss Texas 2010,
Wins the MISS TEXAS USA® Crown
Ana Christina Rodriguez was crowned MISS TEXAS USA 2011 on Sunday, September 5th, in a competition featuring 96 contestants from throughout Texas. Representing Central Laredo in the pageant, the 24-year-old Hispanic beauty is a graduate of Concordia University of Texas and is currently a Preschool Teacher in Austin. Miss Rodriguez has a special interest in helping underprivileged children to obtain the resources and attention they need in order to get a good start in life.
In addition to representing the Great State of Texas in the 2011 MISS USA® pageant, Miss Rodriguez wins a prize package valued at approximately $70,000 and includes scholarships, travel, clothing, jewelry and much more. Hosting the show were Jason Feinberg and Miss USA 2008, Crystle Stewart.
Miss Central Texas, Megan McAnelly, was named first runner-up. Miss Bay Area, Nicole Golyer; Miss Gateway City, Lauren Guzman; and Miss Fort Worth, Kathryn Dunn; were selected as second through fourth runners-up, respectively.
The other contestants named to the top fifteen earlier in Sunday’s competition were Miss Southeast Texas, Kallye Mitchell; Miss San Antonio, Amber Calderon; Miss Austin, Larissa Taylor; Miss Bayou City, Thamer Favor; Miss Plano, Christina Campfield; Miss Heart of Texas, Felicia Bolton; Miss Dallas, Sarah Boehner; Miss North Texas, Shannon McAnally; Miss Waco, Christina Entsminger; and Miss Houston, Taylor Lanning.
