It’s Cotton Harvest Festival time!

It started with a small group and a vision to enhance Moody and its efforts to have a community center. 11 years later, the volunteers may have changed, but the groups’ vision has remained the same. The Moody Cotton Harvest Festival has grown in numbers and size throughout the years and this year’s festival proves to continue that trend.

The morning of September 25th will start off with a pie contest made by some of Moody’s finest bakers. Your mouth is sure to water while bidding on the pies at the auction later that morning. At 10:00 AM, visitors and locals, young and old, seat themselves along Moody’s tree lined streets to anticipate the sirens and flashing lights that signal the beginning of the annual parade.

After the parade, people migrate downtown to find the source of the enticing smells coming from the many food vendors. Artisans from various locations are on hand to showcase their wares and visit with shoppers. There are plenty of activities for the kids including games and an all-day pass for the inflatables.

An outstanding list of musicians is on hand for an all-day music festival that is sure to delight any music lover. So bring your lawn chairs, your kids, and your appetite for food and fun to downtown Moody on Saturday, September 25th, 2010!
