The Bosqueville United Methodist Church located at 7327 Rock Creek Road, North Waco, will host a 150th Anniversary Celebration on October 8-9, 2011.

The Central Texas area is invited to join in as the congregants and community celebrate four events simultaneously:

* Twenty years since the reopening in 1991.

* One hundred years of worship in the white wooden-framed structure built in 1911.

*A one hundred and fifty year presence of ministry in the community.

*Dedication of a Bosqueville Community Baseball

field donated by the Church to the Community.

Bosqueville United Methodist Church had its beginning in camp meetings conducted by circuit rider preachers. People came from great distances, and the camp meetings lasted for days. It was a social event as well as spiritual. Several charter members of the church made their professions of faith at outdoor revivals held under its majestic oaks that continue to grace the area today. The Church was actually chartered in 1853 with 15 founding members. Today the Church has 117 members.

In the spirit of the original revivals held on the grounds, the celebration will consist of:

Saturday, October 8, 2-4 p.m.– Opening Ceremony that will include a tour of the Church and displays of pictures depicting the growth and history of the Church. There will be games from the past for children, refreshments, and at 3 p.m. a ceremony will be held including proclamations and recognitions. At that time, also, a new baseball field that the Church has donated to the Bosqueville community will be dedicated, and a “pick-up” baseball game will be played.

Sunday, October 9—10 a.m. Activities will include the Church Service which will be conducted by the United Methodist Church Central Texas Conference District Superintendent, Don Scott, and after Church a dinner on the grounds will be served to all attending the Service.
