Baylor Football win over SMU 59-24
Baylor runaway winner in hot game Sunday, August 2nd.

Baylor came out as hot as the 100 degree weather on the field, their first
time with the ball. Then SMU had their chance but came up with a big O. It
was Baylor’s time again and had a second TD in the first 10 minutes. SMU did
get a 3 pointer and had a chance to get their first TD when a Bayor player
caught their ball on the first yard line and brought it back to a safe area.
In no time it was 24 to 3
As the half was ending Baylor kicked a three pointer as time ran out.
It was a packed house with plenty of SMU fans turning out in force as did
Baylor fans. Announced attendance 43,514.
The TV announcer says SMU was frustrated at their first half. SMU
Quarterback Garret Gilbert had a good first half but still came up short.
The slaughter continued as darkness came over the field. For along time it
was 45-3. Quarterback Nick Florence had a great night and there was talk.
Could he be another Heisman trophy winner. As the game wore on, SMU bad some
points but Baylor never had anything to worry about. Announcer John Morris
said Baylor came out with no injured players. John said play of the game
came with 43 second TD drive.
Baylor coach Art Briles was pleased with his players.
Eddy Lacky made a big play as he intercepted a play, saving a SMU touchdown.
73 yards later Baylor made another TD.
Final score 59-24. Lacky said it was a awesome night.
Baylor has one of the longest winning streaks now in the nation.
QB Nick Florence said it was a great team win.
