Bass Tournament, Boat Show at Lake Whitney

Uncle Gus Marina and Bosque Resort Restaurant and Bar are the headquarters for the two day boat show and the Jim Grove Memorial Bass Tournament on Lake Whitney near the dam Saturday, March 26.
The tournament begins at 6:30 a. m.   First place prize is a 2010 Bee Line 278 Pro FD bass boat with a Mercury 11.5 Optimax package valued at $23,495.
The Big Bass contest winner gets a $1,000 prize. Other prizes for other fish winners. Several sponsors are helping Uncle Gus put on a successful boat show and fishing contests. The boat show is both days, from 10 a. m. to 6 p. m.
Participating sponsors are: Platinum Parsons Roofing, Gil Lillard Insurance Services.
Gold sponsors: Brazos Roofing,York Pumping Service, Bowen Electric, and Connors Crushed Stone and Minerals.
Silver sponsors: Bandon Blackburn Plumbing, Ratliff Ready Mix,Parsons Whitetail Ranch, Barefoot Ski Ranch, Oasis Heating & Cooling, and First Security State Bank.
Bronze sponsors are Sweeney Home Inc., Pareya’s Package Store, Bosque Mini Mart, The Gun Store, Affiliated Auto Glass, Gamble Concrete, First National Bank of Whitney, Peacock’s Western Auto and Community Bank & Trust.
Tournament sponsors are: Norcross Marine Products, KS Marine Shield Products, Tuff Skinz Outboard Covers, Brass n’ Blades Lures, Phoenix Boats and V&V Wholesale. 
Band ‘Night Hawk’ will be playing Saturday, 4 to 8 p. m. and the Gordon Collier band Sunday 2 to 6 p. m.
World famous Charlie Pack will be entertaining kids and anyone interested both days. Entry fees for the tournament is $250. 
They expect to donate some proceeds to the American Cancer Society and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
