Drums…dancers…whips…boleadoras…direct from Argentina! The award-winningDancing Gauchos will visit Mountainview Elementary on Friday, October 1, at
1:30 p.m. for a live performance in the school’s cafeteria. The high-energy Argentinian
performers will perform breathtaking routines while educating students about the uniqueness of
Argentina and its gauchos.
Beautiful music, dazzling costumes, flamenco dancing, fast-action boleadora routines, and
rhythmic percussion are combined to make this an incredible act.
The Dancing Gauchos have been featured at Bally’s of Las Vegas, Harrah’s Hotel, Universal
Studios, Walt Disney Epcot Center and Lincoln Center of New York. They have performed at
the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia and the 2004 Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia.
Mountainview Elementary is an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme
Candidate School. The Argentinian dancers’ performance correlates to the International
Baccalaureate curriculum, which focuses on the development of the whole child as an inquirer,
both in the classroom and in the world outside.
