NORMAN, Okla. (April 23, 2013) – The Texas Team Trail presented by Cabela’s will host its third event of the 2013 tournament season on May 4 at Belton Lake. This tournament will be the first event for the Texas Team Trail at this quality bass lake.

Registration for the event is already underway – anglers can secure an opportunity to pre-fish Friday, May 3, by completing their registration online or via phone prior to midnight on Thursday, May 2. All anglers that pre-register will also be entered into a drawing for a Power-Pole Shallow Water Anchor. The Fort Hood gate fee will be waived for anglers on Friday.

Designed exclusively for team competition, the event offers anglers an unprecedented opportunity in terms of payout, sponsor bonuses and television coverage.

The Belton Lake event is the third of four 2013 qualifying events. The first-place prize for this event will be a fully-rigged, Triton 18XS powered by an Evinrude 150 HO package, valued at $30,000. The first place prize, plus a budget-friendly $250 entry fee, plus multiple contingency bonus programs and over 100% payback leads to a buzz among Texas’ anglers. Sights are set on the new Texas Team Trail event on Belton Lake, as well as the championship tournament in October on Falcon Lake.

On-site registration is set for Friday, May 3, from 4-7 p.m. at Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area (BLORA). We ask that one team member attend. The tournament will launch Saturday, May 4, at safe light from Belton Lake Outdoor Recreation Area and weigh-in will begin at the same location at 3 p.m.

Anglers with questions or anyone interested in more details on the event are encouraged to visit www.texasteamtrail.com or call 210-788-4143.

Along with title-sponsor Cabela’s, Texas Team Trail has also welcomed Lucas Oil®, Ranger Boats, Stratos Boats, Triton Boats, Evinrude®, Minn Kota®, Talon, RAM Trucks, Lowrance, Power-Pole, Boater’s Insurance®, Protect the Harvest, Amphibia and Arctic Ice as official partners.

2013 Remaining Schedule
May 4 – Belton Lake
June 1 – Cedar Creek Lake

Championship
October 12-13 – Falcon Lake

It’s a great time for Baylor sports teams! The men’s basketball team knocked out Providence Wednesday night 79 to 68 to earn a trip to New York to the NIt for the second time. They play BYU Tuesday, April 2, 6 p.m. Cory Jefferson and Pierre Jackson again were the leading players.

The Lady Bears lit up the Scoreboard at Ferrell Center Tuesday night, March 26, leaving a good Florida team in the dust 85 to 47. to earn their way to Oklahoma for the next round of the semi finals.

It was an emotional night because for the seniors like Brittney Grimmer it was their last game at Ferrell Center on the Baylor campus. The Lady Bears hope to keep punching their ticket to get to the final four in New Orleans.

TV networks have found a home at Baylor in the last few years, after Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III made headline on the football field and winning the Alamo Bowl. RGIII is now with Washington, but other players are stepping up to fill the vacancy. Spring practice has been good said Art Briles. Now players seek out Baylor.

With the new stadium rising on the banks of the Brazos we look forward to many exciting games there and maybe even another bowl for Texas.

time with the ball. Then SMU had their chance but came up with a big O. It
was Baylor’s time again and had a second TD in the first 10 minutes. SMU did
get a 3 pointer and had a chance to get their first TD when a Bayor player
caught their ball on the first yard line and brought it back to a safe area.
In no time it was 24 to 3
As the half was ending Baylor kicked a three pointer as time ran out.

It was a packed house with plenty of SMU fans turning out in force as did
Baylor fans. Announced attendance 43,514.

The TV announcer says SMU was frustrated at their first half. SMU
Quarterback Garret Gilbert had a good first half but still came up short.
The slaughter continued as darkness came over the field. For along time it
was 45-3. Quarterback Nick Florence had a great night and there was talk.
Could he be another Heisman trophy winner. As the game wore on, SMU bad some
points but Baylor never had anything to worry about. Announcer John Morris
said Baylor came out with no injured players. John said play of the game
came with 43 second TD drive.
Baylor coach Art Briles was pleased with his players.
Eddy Lacky made a big play as he intercepted a play, saving a SMU touchdown.
73 yards later Baylor made another TD.
Final score 59-24. Lacky said it was a awesome night.
Baylor has one of the longest winning streaks now in the nation.
QB Nick Florence said it was a great team win.
